We look for opportunities to keep children engaged in physical and educational activities that can have a positive effect on their mental wellness. We believe participating in the SMART Sports NFL Flag Football Leagues, Camps, Clinics and Combines provide numerous benefits!
As you and your child join us on this NFL Flag journey, they will learn, play and have fun. While your child is building on their athletic prowess while participating in SMART Sports NFL Flag, they are also learning how to be a better team player, communicator, and a good sport. Trying new activities and drills builds up confidence and knowledge. And the time on the field provides them with the much-needed time away from electronic devices, screens and tv!
We appreciate you allowing your child to experience our League and or Clinic. We care about our league families, and we are counting on each of you to support our efforts to ensure that you and your children are always demonstrating respectful behavior to the coaches and the officials. Coaches and officials are crucial to the game and are also a part of our SMART SPORTS NFL Flag family.
We want to make a positive impact in the community and in the lives of the children participating in our programs. Let’s work together as one team making our communities safer and enriched.

Kelly
Kelly Landry Mehrtens is the founder of SMART Sports. She has over thirty years of C-suite administrative experience in professional and intercollegiate athletics. She is passionate about giving meaningful opportunities to positively impact the lives of others. Inspired by her mother's passion for education and sports, she looked to build an organization where children could benefit from the impact that competing in athletics had on her life. Her mother, Zella Landry, was an educator in Bay County for over 40 years and taught Kelly early on the importance of giving and "paying it forward", as well as responsibility to help children and impact community. On a daily basis, Kelly aims to strengthen engagement and build community with youth to help them as they pursue their dreams.
As a former collegiate and high school All-American, Kelly understands and appreciates the lifelong lessons taught through participating in sports. Kelly received her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama where she was a track and field NCAA All-American and later received her master’s degree in higher education from the University of Illinois in 2001. She is a native of Panama City, Florida where she attended Bay High School.
